Ok, When my uncle and I pulled apart the Granada we pulled the distribution block with it. Now it is lost and the 69 is on jack stands. I have bought an adjustible proportioning valve that I had planned to use with the stock 69 4 wheel drum distribution block. I was told that the stock unit should be gutted because its the PSI with the inturnals in place is too high for the discs. How do you remove that stupid valve in the block? I tried needle nose pliers, but it wont move. With this valve removed, will the senser still work? Should I just ditch this idea and try to find a good one from a Granada at a junk yard? Any way to test one out before I (a) pull it or (b) install it? ------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" The plastic fitting on top has a spring loaded pin that will prevent the rod (valve) from coming out. Without the rod in the center of your distribution block the brake warning light can't work and you loose the safety feature of having two separate reservoirs. You can use your stock valve the way it is and just plumb the adjustable proportioning valve into the rear brake line. ------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

whiteknight, So I can use the stock distr. block as is with no issues? Does the block control the PSI for the system or is it just done from the MC?------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" CRC Motorsports 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger

You can use the stock dist. block as-is. All it does is distribute the fluid to the front and rear (hence the name, distribution block) and of course it senses a pressure failure and turns on your brake warning light. A proportioning valve on the other hand will proportion out the fluid, limiting the pressure to the rear drums so they don't lock up prematurely. We've seen a bunch of cars where people don't even use a proportioning valve and the car stops fine in normal conditions. In a panic stop they could be in trouble if the rears lock up. ------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather

whiteknight289, Am I right to assume that the valve goes after the dist block in your post above?

yes, route the fluid thru the block as normal, and then somewhere between the block and the rear axle install your prop. valve. Most people put it near the hood hinge for easy access.------------------ MCA Certified Judge, 1965-1966 66 GT coupe A code, Silver Frost 65 coupe modified - the White Knight 66 convert being restored 95 GT convertible/Cobra clone - black with white leather
