Does anyone know what's going on at Total Control Products ? I just called a vendor to place an order and they said they can't get any product from TCP and everything has been on backorder for quite a while. I called TCP and got a recording saying they were moving business locations. I talked to another person who thought they were going out of business etc. Does anyone know the real story. I'd hate to see them shut down because they produce a very high quality product.

Maybe since they were so highly priced and all the competition popped up (especially rack and pinion conversions), they lost too many sales.

Their prices were high but so was their quality. I really liked the design of most of their products (sub-frame connectors, motor mounts etc.) I don't see anyone producing the motor mounts or shock tower bracing systems like they have (at least I haven't found any).

I ordered convertible sub-frames from them in mid-February and received them in Chicago about 6 days later. I started buying from Total Control about 5 years ago, and they operated on their own. One day I called their number and it was answered "Mustangs Plus". Apparently TCP had an exclusive agreement for Mustangs Plus to handle the marketing and distribution of product, while TCP still did design and developement. MP invested big time in stocking a lot of product. Then, TCP decided to go out on their own again, leaving MP holding a lot of inventory. The details may be fuzzy, but that's the bulk of the story. I've always liked their design and execution and will continue to purchase their product when I have a project suitable for it. They are pricey, but quality is always a good investment.
