Hi Guys

Well after the weekend of playing with some modelling clay to check the clearance of the air filter and the hood to find I have 7/8 in the middle not much So I have decided that it is time for a scoop, but which one I like the one in the photo, but I am not sure what one it is. Can anyone identify it for me please and where I can get one? Or has anyone have any suggestions of other scoops, I want to gain about 3.

That's the classic teardrop bubble hood, famous fopr it's use on T-Bolts and A/FX drag cars in the sixties. That's a neat scoop, in my opinion.

Crites Restoration is one of the sources for one:

Hi Guys, Thanks for the response, have any of you bought from any of the suppliers you mentioned. As I was wondering about the quility of the glass, as I will have to ship it to England.

Many Thanks

Steve

Steve I got my scoop from the company I posted. It was shipped good and safe. The scoop did need some sanding and filling of a few small low spots. Over all I'm real happy with it.

As mentioned, that's a thunderbolt style scoop.

7/8" really isn't bad for a mustang. They don't have much room under the hood, and unless you really need more space because you still don't have an air filter on there yet or something, you shouldn't need any more room.

I'm still busting my cousin's stones because he put a 4" cowl hood on his 5.0 because the wing nut rubbed the hood under heavy acceleration, just enough to scratch the paint off the bottom, not even dent it. I thought that was pretty lame

Nick there is nothing lame about a hood scoop.
It's all a matter of taste. Some people like the 67 Mustang other like the best year ever made the 65.

Hi Scoop, although mine is a 66 registration it is actually a 65 build Thanks for the info I will give them a ring next week to get one ordered.
Nick the reason I need more clearance is I am going to fit nitrous at some point so need room for the sandwich plate, and I just like the look of that scoop
