The more I look at the wiring on my Mach, the more I think it'd be smarter to change over to a modern electrical system. Has anybody had any problems with Painless? There are other vendors that sell to the street rod crowd too, I've noticed. Anyone use one of those? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

i had to rewire my 69 mach and decided to go with the modern wiring too. i was at a local swap meet/car show and there was a vendor there who was selling wiring harnesses for the whole car. i dont remember the price off the top of my head but it was under $200. It is called E-Z Wiring. I think it is a nice setup. There is wires for eveything you need plus more! Each wire is labled every foot so you know which one it is. You can also get a setup that has a different color for each wire plus the labels but it costs more so i went with the all black wires. I did this when i was 18 with a little electrical background and i had no problems. Car started first try once i put the coil wire on the correct side of the coil!!(blew the fuse before i realied the problem) anyway, there is a company for you to think about.

Thanks. I think that's one of the ones that advertises in the Street Rodder magazine. I think you can get them with 20 circuits?------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

WOOOHOOOO 100!!!!!!!Ahem, anyhoo. Painless doesn't even make a kit for my 68 and EZ wiring is less than half, a third of the cost for the 65-66 kit. ------------------ 68 coupe 302 w/C4 PS & AC *update* I'm getting the parts together for a T5 swap. Thanks Alan. Those seem like pretty good prices. I wouldn't worry too much about these not being specific to your application, these are pretty generic systems. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

Hi Steve, I looked at the painless loom for my 66 which they make specific loom for. But when I saw some photo?s on another website, were the wires pass through the bulk head they were not connected via a multi-connector, but just pushed through a grommet. Something to think about, apart from that it seemed a good loom apart from the price. In the end I built my own. Steve

I ran my battery cable from the trunk in conduit along the frame rails. Then where it pass's through the inner fender. I used a male and female screw together fitting. I like it better then a rubber grommet. You could do the same on the fire wall, or take your time and make a plug connection there too. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. You don't want to use conduit on a car, plastic or otherwise, because unlike a house a car is exposed to lots of splashing water, and the last thing you want is conduit to accumulate water for the wires to sit it. Corrosion and/or shorts will result. That's what the factory leaves them exposed.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
