V-10's are enormous W I D E Loooooooooong HEAVY The powerband is idle-3000. They make unreal torque down low, but that's about it. The aftermarket isn't real rich with V-10 stuff with the exception of chips and maybe exhaust. I suppose it could be done, but you'd need a wrecked truck to salvage parts from; motor, trans (another very large, heavy unit), computer, spaghetti wiring harness , fuel pumps and lines (would require massive reworking). Sounds like alot of work (and money ) Welcome to M&M ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

Wasn't there someone here that shoehorned one into a capri? But like Thumper said, a massive undertaking. I think you could go with a nice stroker and be much more happy with your power band and not have to deal with all the trouble of the V10.

Or better yet, buy a new crate motor from Ford Racing. You can get just as much HP as the V10. No, it wouldn't be as interesting as a V10 but it would be alot less work.Of course if you are dead set on a V10, go with the Viper engine. Lightweight, super HP and alot nicer looking IMHO. But then again, there is the cost. Aw heck, build a stroker!

Are you sure you'd want to create such a nose heavy, ill handling car? The weight distribution of a Mustang isn't stellar in the first place, bolting that log up front won't help much. You can make lots of power with the current crop of available engines with a fraction of the time, trouble and cost. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

I WAS going to use a 351w stroker stroked to a 427 but running mostly like stock, so it would run like a 428cj. . . but handle like a small block. . . I have 18's on it. . . so the car is being set up to handle. . . but I can be beat by no belly button camaros!!. . . as of now. . . its a thought. . . I need info now to make the decision. here is the link to the front end if any if you are interested: http://www.heidts.com/images/art5.pdf

Now you're talking. Add aluminum heads for performance and weight savings onto the 351W and you can't get much better.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip
