I have been looking at motors for my 65 fastback and really would like to fit the 2003 5.4 liter lighting motor in it. Will this motor fit without major mods?? It is a SOHC motor it looks as though it would. I would like to know if that new 5.0 cammer motor from ford racing would fit without cutting the shock towers also (it is a dohc motor though I dought it would)

Thanks

Those Mod Motors (4.6, 5.4) are HUGE. Makor shock tower/suspension mods will be required.
Why not go for the 392w crate motor if you have to have a crate motor.
Better yet, build your own.

Agreeing with the above statement, those mod motors really are huge. Shock towers definitely would have to be cut. You can make more power, for probably a boatload cheaper using a 351W stroker motor. And if you want fuel injection, it really should be no problem. So basically what I'm trying to say is do what Mpcoulv said!

Weclome to M&M !!!

Take a look at the engine compartment photo in this link, near the end of the page...

http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=6584

You'll see they had to remove the shock towers completely.
