Well, yesterday we had a very large storm come through and dump alot of rain. When I got home, I thought I'd see how my leak repair held. IT DID! . But.....there is a small leak that's running down the firewall just in front of the vent opening . But I think I can take care of it. Any ideas? Glad I haven't put the carpet kit in yet.

Do you think you could devise some way of delivering some sort of sealant though the cowl vent slits? Maybe some tubing?

Good idea Steve! I'm also thinking of two other methods. One is to remove the fender again and spray in through the drain and the other is to go back under the dash and see if I can expose the leak and repair it from there. At least it's just a dribble compared to the puddle I was getting before. I'm also wondering if it's not getting in from where the back of the hood rests on the cowling/firewall area(maybe a hole or opening there)

Considering the amount of water that was dumped(I think we got a little over 2 inches)
I'm pretty pleased with only seeing a dribble. I'm also thinking about putting some packets of Silica gel around the inside of the car for awhile afterwards to remove any moisture. Any ideas on that thought?

How's this for an idea:

Get a length of 3/16" thinwall hose, {I think that should fit through the slits} a cheap turkey baster or medical syringe, a small patch of fiberglass cloth, and some fiberglass resin. Put the cloth through the slit, use a rod to place it where you want it to be, point the hose when you want to deliver the resin, and inject the resin through the hose with the syringe. After it sets, you could use the hose to drip POR-15 over the repaired area.

Of course, I should have said you need catalyst for the resin but you know that.

I'd take the fenders off again.

When you get that fixed you can help me find my leaks. I have driven my car in the rain and had it sit in the rain numerous times with no problem. Now all of a sudden the dash thinks that I need to wash my feet every time it rains. I mean, yeah, my feet smell bad but is it necessary to get the floorboard and all the electrical under the dash wet in the process?

I hope it doesn't come a flood at the 40th celebration. I'll have a floorboard full of water.
