I bought a tilt column for my car and was comparing it to the column that is currently installed. I noticed that the two plates that bolt to the firewall differ. Does anybody know if this is correct or do I have the wrong column? I was able to find a part number:
D0ZA-3790???.

How do these plates differ? I`ve had 2 70 Mustangs with tilt, & 2 without, but I honestly don`t recall a differance. One thing that IS different is the rag joint coupler. As I recall, the tilt column uses a D shaped coupler. I hope you got the coupler with your column, as I don`t believe they are available new.

The plate that bolts has a different
bolt pattern for each - meaning the holes
won't line up if I were to remove one
and replace it with the other.
This is gonna sound intelligent - what
is a "rag joint"?
