Hi,I have a rebuilt 65 289 A code with C6AE heads, these heads are the non-adjustable, non-rail, slotted pushrod hole variety. I have added the non-rail type comp cams roller tip rockers. I have what I believe to be a stock cam. My question is: Can I add a Comp Cam 270H cam and lifter kit (or at least a 268H) to this without creating some geometry problems with this rocker/stud set-up? These studs don't have the shoulders on them, but they're still the press-in type. The Comp cam specs seem to indicate that stock pressure springs will work - so should I not be concerned about the press-in studs or spring pressure? I'd like a little rumpity-rump and not any clankity-clank. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

No problem with 270 H or S and your heads. Just make certain you have at least 80-90 lbs of seat pressure to take advantage of the RPM.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,& '04 First SS/MA in the TENS! Thanks again Alex. Also ok with 270 S? Really? I can get away with a solid cam with pressed in studs and a non-adjustable valve train? Now ya got me thinkin'. Any preference between the S and the H cams? I do intend to port the heads and I'm running Hi-Po manifolds with 2-1/4" exhaust - just fyi. I will also probably invest in a stall converter in the future.
