whats up guys. well here goes another rear end question. it started today i think it is just low on fluid. but when i drive it makes this loud as noise like big mud tires going down the road. when im in third gear and slowing down it stops at 30 mph but when i let the clutch in it does it again. i think it is just time to change the fluid what do you think?

If it is low on fluid you should see signs of leakage and you should not drive it until you remove the pumpkin and give it a good cleaning, checking for any metal fragments (magnet) and excessive wear on the R&P. It could also be your wheel bearings, brakes or u-joint. Check all of it carefully and make the appropriate repairs. If you keep driving it the way it is, it will just get worse and cost you more in the long run.

ok the u joints are all brand new as of september of last year... i had a bad bearing melt to my front spindle so i dont think its that . how could it be the brakes? and the pumpkin probably has the original fluid not sure i got the car in may 2003 and i never changed it. looks kinda moist all the time so. but i will go over it today

ok well i fixed it. it was the spline that comes out of the pumpkin. it was loose allowing the pinion gear to move in and out but i think i got to it before it was to late. im still going to change the fluid and the gasket and make sure everything is a ok
