Topic: how to tell a real '65/'66 gt350 from a clone?

by the exterior...someone at my school drives a white/dark blue striped '65/'66 gt350 on 14"/15" AR TT D wheels but i cant tell if its a real one or a clone. is there any way i can tell externally if its a real gt350? i cant just stand out by the car all day & wait for this person to show up....or can i.

Sure! why not? It's always interesting to meet other Stang owners. You might just make a new friend and learn a few good tips and tricks in the process. Other than checking the VIN, I don't know any other way myself.

A 65 will have a rear package tray, 4 speed, 9 inch rear, with overide traction bars,axle limiting cables....Cragar wheels, or steel rims...should have a Shelby VIN plate drivers side inner fender, Cobra tach and oil pressure gauge in pod on top of dash, front Disc brakes!! gotta be a K code mustang first....66 will have Plexiglass side Quarter Widows, not the vents...have a cobra tach on top of the dash...Front disc brakes!!!!! I doubt anyone drives a real one to school.....to easy to steal.... [This message has been edited by markboss (edited 02-19-2004).]
