OK, when I was a kid, if memory serves, it seems that when a T-stat went south, they just tossed it. How important is it to have a T-stat? I live in Nevada, so I don't use my Heater. Anyhow, Thanks in advance for the info and your time.

It controls the flow of coolant without it the radiator can't do it's job as well. Because the coolant passes through it to fast to get cooled off. ------------------ SCOOP oddly obsessed with big scoops on little Mustangs 65 coupe,351w,C4,Big Boss 429 hood scoop,8" 3.40 TracLoc. My Pics

It also flows to quickly for the engine to transfer heat to the fluid. It may read cool, but its reading from the fluid, bot the metal of the block or heads. ------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" CRC Motorsports 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger
