Most of us with convertibles know how frustrating it is to get good sound, on the early '65 to '68 models there is vitually nowhere you can place speakers and I don't like the kick panel idea. Custom Autosound have underseat speakers 2 7/8" tall does anyone know if they will have enough clearance in a '66? I live in Australia and don't want to import expensive speakers that might not work.

Maybe you could look into electrostatic speakers? Then mount a sub in the trunk behind the seat to give you low end?------------------ http://webpages.charter.net/adragon8u/mystang

Thanks for the info, I'll check with my installer although I didn't want something that has to blast out too loud and located in the trunk could be awkward as my cars are wedding cars and I need the trunk space for cool boxes and luggage. quote: Originally posted by adragon8u: Maybe you could look into electrostatic speakers? Electrstatics are very thin, but don't have very much low end. But imaging is awesome.------------------ http://webpages.charter.net/adragon8u/mystang

Thanks, glad you like it maybe you should look into doing it over there as a business. Check it out, it might be an untapped market!

What an excellent idea! Now if I only had a fleet of Ponies. All you see around here are the nasty 50' long Navigator and Humvees. ------------------ Jeremy '68 Coupe M&M Member #685 MCA Member #49134 Help make the world a better place, drive a Ford and race a slot car!

I wouldn't have a clue as to where to begin. I would love to do it as I could tie in my love of Mustangs and photography with the weddings. My income right now barely supports my family but I won't bore you with all that. I am doing a few things on the side that I hope take off, but I'm not betting on it. I think I would have a hard time finding a bank to dish out money to buy cars, insurance, advertising, an office space and the like. Unless of course you have some connections. I would be interested in hearing how you got started though. I don't suppose you will be coming to Nashville for the 40th celebration will you?

I started by accident, I bought my '69 GT ex LA brought it over had it converted to RH drive, restored it and drove it. I was asked on a few occasions to do weddings ( I never thought a Mustang would be suitable!) and so it went on until I got fed up with all the freebies and started charging, built an internet site, built a reputation, got my name out there and away I went. When I needed more cars I found club members and paid them. Now the fleet has 12 cars mostly mine paid for by the business. I would really love to come to the 40th but with a busy biz its difficult unfortunately I have no connections over there. Upside is a biz like this could be set up in the states for a fraction of the cost here, I have to import everything and bear the cost of complete stip down for R/H drive conversion at around A$6500. But what you have to make sure of is that the market is there, I live in Australias biggest city with a strong population base and a 'California' type climate that lends itself to this style of operation. Hope this helps.

Great information! The big thing would be lack of market where I live. But there is a good reason to move to Florida! I love to hear about the businesses that started by "accident". There is always a unique story to be told. Thanks for giving me a little background about your business. Keep up the great work!

I've been wanting to visit Aussie land since I was in the 6th grade. I had to do a geograpy project on the land down under. I'd go in a heartbeat but the wife doesn't wanna be in the air that long.
