All Mustang seats are interchangeable. (Except the really new ones01 on, IIRC) I put some 93 cloth ones in my 65 and love them. Take off the new seat tracks, bolt on the old ones, drill a hole in the back of each track and it's a bolt on. Hope this helps.

Dude,
You need to keep calling me! No offense to anyone else here. I have a set of original 66 front seats recovered last summer for sale or a set of cloth buckets out of a Nissan that are similar to whats in my yellow 66.

Brian,
I wouldn't say they're a direct bolt in but then again neither a late model Mustang seats (have a set of those also, for the Falcon). I had to weld cross bars under the seats in my Stang, then drill hole and bolt the original tracks to the bars. Then they bolt in. If your interested you can take a look at them when you pick up the engine.

I would like to revive this thread.

I am looking for new seats for my 68 coupe. I see lots of upholstery, buns foam, etc, but I would like to throw these babies out, they have about had it. I wouldn't mind something with more support etc, but don't want to stray too far from the stock look.

Does anyone know of a place that sells bolt in replacements? Is it true what it says above that any year Mustang seat would work?

thanks

Gregg

Gregg, I put a pair of the procar seats ( http://www.motorsportseats.com/procar/elite.html ) in my 65. They fit good look great, and best of all the feel AWESOME! One of the most comfortable seats I've found. But keep in mind these seats aren't cheap. Last X-mas my family and friends all went in on the seats for me.

Gregg,
Virginia Classic Mustang has an aftermarket foam and upholstery kit that might work for you. You'll need to keep the seat frames, but they look alot more comfortable. You can even get headrests. Take a look:

Check NPD's newest catalog. They have the Sport Seat Conversion for 65-67 seats. Buns are $78 per seat and the upholstery kit is $290 which includes rear seat upholstery.

These are the seats in my 65. They are very comfortable. If you are building just a car to cruise in the Elite might be better because they are not bolstered as much. If you are a little(okay a lot) wide in the mid section they also might not be comfortable.

Before I bought these I used to fly out of my seat during hard turns. The plastic pieces of the sides are a little on the cheap side but otherwise they have held up well. I bought them about 10 years ago. I have often thought of having them upholstered in leather with some different color inserts and nicer plastic or maybe polished aluminum to match the guage panel.
