Ok, Im converting the 56 effie to a serpentine set-up that. Got a few question maybe you could help with.1) Do I have to use the timing chain cover from the serpentine engine? 1a) If yes, what do I do about the dip stick? I know this isn't the correct place to post this, but I figured more people have converted their Ponies than pick-ups. ------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" Believe that the timing cover must be changed. To have a dipstick, look on the new timing cover for the spot where the hole was on the early cover. There should be a flat spot where a hole can be drilled-same as the orig. Another hole is then drilled in the cast aluminum alternator bracket. This will support the tube. This is what the EFI conversions in early Mustangs have.

Jegs has a SBF timing cover that they claim can be used with all kinds of combinations. Normal or reverse water pumps, block or timing cover dip stick, mech fuel pump, timing pointer on left or right side, etc. Part# 555-50300 $109. ------------------ Bernie Frank 66 Fastback restomod (12.8 @ 112mph) 85 GT (preserved) 2000 SVT CONTOUR
