Lots of activity in the Epperstang stable lately.66 vert,KAOS, is getting prepared for the trip to Nashville. Engine was pulled in October. New cam and roller rockers. It was smoking late in the summer and Mike discovered the rockers were misaligned and wore out a valve guide. All fixed now. While engine out, was repainted. Intake and most other brackets and pieces were powder coated. Engine bay painted. While engine out, took hood, front valence and headlight buckets to painter. Repainted and taking out fiberglass cracks and rock chips. Also rebuild the clutch. And Rally Pak has been recalibrated, new lights, clock fixed and housing repainted. Adding a Cobra oil pan too. More projects in the garage... Mike Jr. put his JME billet gauge cluster in his new 65 FB. He won it in Mustang Monthly Young Owners contest. Looks awesome. He didn't want to put in his coupe or vert which are both pony with wood grain interiors. But it looks very cool with camera case finish in his standard black interior FB. He also just finished installing front disks on his 66 coupe. Now he is installing T-5 tranny in his 66 convertible. Mikey's a busy boy. He loves his toys. After we get back from Nashville, next projects will be power front disks for PINKIE. Will use same kit Mike put in CRISIS from Master Brake Co. New white vert top on 68 vert, CRISIS, is planned. CRISIS will also be getting new exhaust system custom designed by Dr. Gas himself! Mike built a rack to put the 65 K-coupe shell on sitting over the 65 K-vert project which are both parked outside the garage. Stacking them will make room for one more car. Hmmmm... We're also finally putting a roof over the RV, extra parking pad, behind the garage, so the cars out there are more protected. Hopefully this will all be done by June, the the summer project will be getting back to the 64.5 Pace car, INDY, which has been on hold since we bought CRISIS last May. Steve, don't even ask when we'll get to the Mach. J.

I am tired just reading this, I really don,t have any idea how you do it but your love of mustangs goes way beyond a compulsion or disease or even fanaticism I don,t know what it is but I really envy the both of you. Your mustang fever is way out of control and you are both so lucky, keep up the good work and let the rest of us live vicariously through you ------------------ JOHN 65 FASTBACK 2+2.....14.44 @ 107mph 1/4 87 TAURUS WAGON 03 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4 SHORT BOX Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 65 FASTBACK 2003 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4

John, I know we are way over the top. Had a breakfast out with an old friend last week. Hadn't seen her for a few years. She has gotten seriously involved with AA. I can see it has done her a lot of good. But then she wanted to lay all her "program" stuff on me about addiction and how Mike and I use our stangs to escape reality. I told her - We both work very hard and are successful at our jobs. Our bills are paid. Our kids are happy and successful and also enjoy our hobby. We get to travel and have friends all over the country. How can that be bad? BTW - Mike has been "clean and sober" since 1987. Used to have a real problem that way. Ironically, it was the first year he restored a stang... We are grateful every day. If we lost it all tomorrow... I think there's a song about that... Sorry for getting sidetracked. J. Over the top? Yes but in a very good way, if this is an addiction then the world would be better off with this kind of addiction, it does not leave you puking in the street, stealing to support the habit, lying to friends and family to hide it, always looking over your shoulder for the cops to bust you, destroying your health and killing yourself, this addiction is not self destructive it is up-lifting, motivating and an art form. You have to be able to have a job and a healthy relationship with your other half to have this addiction, you have to be sociable and socialized to have this addiction. In short this addiction that your friend says helps you and Mike to escape reality is in fact a very happy and fulfilling reality that has helped keep Mike "clean and sober" for a very long time. All those people that have the bad addictions should be so lucky as to have an addiction that is not destructive and fosters family unity and keeps a great classic car from meeting it`s demise in a crusher. Be proud of your addiction hold your head up high and pass it along to somebody else, this is one addiction that would be great if it were highly contagious. I will get off my soap box now.

Your friend is absurd. The hallmark of an abuse problem is when it has a negative impact on your life and you and those around you suffer. Your family, on the other hand, probably spend more time together than 99% of today's families and you are either engaged in restoring cars and adding value to them or enjoying them in very social settings. Yes, your friend could use a dose of clarity. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 351C 4V/FMX/3.25 Open '70 Mustang Convertible 250 I6/3 speed/2.79 Open '72 Mustang Sprint Hardtop 351C 4V/FMX/4.30 Trac Loc '94 F-150 XL 5.8L/E4OD/3.55 Limited Slip

I totally agree with Steve. Classic cars are a great way to spend time with the family. The reason I wont ever sell the '65 is the time my dad and I have into her, too many memories. Doing paint prep together gives you a lot of time to talk lol. Before my wedding my dad and I were once again working on the '65 together, kinda fitting. He also said he wished he could get a Mustang to restore with Tre (my nephew) when he gets older (all of 8mo lol). I told him dont worry, I will have one for my kids so we can work on it together (3 gens, that would be cool).
