A noisy lifter indicates a gummed-up lifter or lack of oil pressure on that lifter. Don't know of any miracle product that could help you here ! I haven't followed all of your posts but engine Clean-up/rebuilt may be in order soon. The only thing that I can think of to TEMPORARELY relieve the problem is to switch to a High volume oil pump (seems like your problem goes away when oil pressure rises) and still there are no certainty that it will fix your problem

I dunno... still sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Or, it could be a rockerarm or stud.I've heard of guys running a few quarts of diesel fuel (as a solvent) in the crankcase for 20 minutes to blow out gummed up crap, can't say I'd recommend it. Sounds fatal to me There's a few cleaning products on the market, one is called 'Motor Flush' IIRC. If you've eliminated ALL other possibilities, something like that may be an option. READ the instructions/disclaimers very carefully! I'd swictch to a lighter grade oil first, see if that clears it up. ------------------ 1965 GT coupe, 333ci aluminum headed/solid cammed stroker, four speed, 3.70:1 9" All Blue Oval, no blue bottle http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/V8Thumper.html

I agree; I'd try just a fresh oil change with 5W-30 or a few of the other suggestions offered here before I'd dump in some "clean-the-gunk-from-your-engine" solvent. Considering that these type of products may loosen up more gunk that you want - & then cause more lifters to get plugged up and start clattering..... JMO, Ryan

You can start with the push rods. Make sure they are good and not clogged. I used a piece of wire on mine to clear out all the built up grim.------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" CRC Motorsports 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger

replaced the exhaust manifold gasket and even had it machined for a straighter edge no back fire or anything. the noise is louder on the one side of the engine (driver side) thats were all the lifter rods and what not are. it is a 66 200ci. the motor needs a new valve cover gasket too so i will check what your saying. also i change my oil every 2300 miles i tried 30 weight then 5w40 with lucas and then just 5w40 it has all helped a bit but like i aid it is weird. when i give it gas and start to let the clutch out it goes away(straining the motor) but when i drive it goes faster with the rpm
