Good morning everyone,The last time I had my '66 conv out on the road, I noticed that the turn signals were not working. I don't have the repair manual yet (on it's way) but I wanted to get the experienced opinions from this board. I don't beleive that there is fuse for the turn signals, but there is the turn signal flasher. Could this be bad and causing my problem? If it is what is causing the problem, is there an easy way to get to the it. Is there anything else that could be causing the problem? Thanks for any advice you can give. Andy H.

ANDY, do the dash turn lights come on when you activate the turn signal? If so it is probably the flasher. If they don"t, I would look for a blown fuse. If one side works but the other side only shows a lighted dash light, I would check for a burned out bulb. Hope this helps.

Thanks,The dash lights don't light and the actual turn signal lights don't work. It just happened, one minute they were working and the next nothing. Thanks again. Andy

Okay, First, how is the easiest/best way to check the flasher unit? I know approximately where it is but how is the best way to get to it? And yes I am in Tampa and it is currently about 75 degrees and I am wearing shorts, but, there is a cold front coming through on Tuesday night/Wednesday and we will only get to around 61 to 63 for those days. Thanks Andy

well its in a U shaped clip just feel for it and pull it off. im not sure how to check it but think to yourself... how old is it and if you have any other vehicles around with a two pronged flasher unit plug that in instead of your old unit. or just get a new one. or i belive you could use a wire from the battery or some 12v unit in the car and touch the one side of the flasher unit if it clicks then it works
