Hey guys!

I installed some 1971 Mustang bucket seats in my Maverick. I had the upholstered to match the rear seat. They look great!

Only problem is the plastic seat backs are rotted. I painted them with some trim paint, but they are just crumbling and they scratch easy.

I figured Mustang parts were easy to buy right? Theya re just standard trim seats in black. But I can't find 'em.

Appreciate the help

At the bottom of the Forums page, go to archives, click on interiors, and then scroll down to interior fiberglass panels. This worked great on my fiberglass panels around the seat, and should work on the seat backs also. Then, there is always e-bay. Seems like I saw a set on there a few days ago.

Don't judge me on the spelling on the above reply. Sorry

You are going to have to find them used, they are not being reproduced by anyone at this time for the '71-'73 seats. Check ebay or some of the mustang wrecking yards.

I don't think anyone makes them for a 69-70 either!

That a hint if any vendors are here.

I agree, the Mustang plastic backs take a beating...

My 71 XR7 Cougar has upholstered seat backs, vinyl over some sort of rigid board. Still looks mint after 33 years. Might want to look into those, maybe find a decent used set from Don Witt at West Coast Classic cougar?
