Topic: 71-2 tail light assembly detail?

I've got two sets of tail light assemblies for my 72, one of which came with the car and one of which I believe was from a 71. The car is in pieces and I can't remember which is which.
One set has the plastic area between the lenses blacked out, the other set is just chrome. Which is which?

I believe the ones with the blackout are for 71-72's and the 73 is the only year with the chrome only. Other than that they are identical. A couple of years ago, I scored a pair of NOS lenses without the blackout and was told by the seller that they were for 73's. I carefully taped off and painted the blackout on them and put them on my 72.

Yup, that sounds right. The guy who gave me the extra set of lenses said they were from a 71, but he also gave me a rear bumper that is definitely 73. The lenses must have come from the same car. Thanks!

Ponyman is 100% correct. The blacked out ones are '71-'72 and the solid chrome are only '73!!------------------
