Well, the hi-po headers are on their way for the 289 in my '65 convertible, and I found a killer deal on an "out of the box" 2-1/4" dual exhaust system - so that's coming soon. Ye-ha. I do have a question, though. I have the early, low slung style motor mounts in my '65. Is anyone aware of any issues with clearance while trying to use the hi-po exhaust manifolds with the early style motor mounts? If, so I might be forced to acquire to TCI mounts or a set of late style mounts, and, those - correct me if I 'm wrong - require a different cross-member? Thanks again for any help. As an aside, I put a hotrodair electric fan on my '65 (unloading the big heavy flex fan) and a set of #1442 comp cams magnum roller tip rockers s on - and holy cow! what a difference. I can't wait to take it out on test and tune night at the track here in Vegas.

I had the HiPo exhaust manifolds on my 289ci with its original motor mounts and never had any clearance issues. If your cars a standard you will have to either buy a HiPo Z-bar or alter your original one though

As Ken says, the only clearance issues with 289 HIPO exhaust manifolds are stick (manual transmission) related.
