I've never seen a shaker on a 65 and was curious if anyone else had. Was also wondering how much you actually gain from a shaker besides just the look. And besides Ford Ram Air, what would be some other places I might take a look at for one.

To each their own.... but. Personally I think it would look out of place. A functional Shelby scoop would be better. Meaning the proper air cleaner to capture all the ram air.

I figured it'd look completely out of place, but was just reading up on them. Wasn't sure of what kind of gains they give you over stock induction. But after checking out the price I think I'll stay away from them. Save up for something else.
Thanks Though

Mooney, I have seen one and to my artistic eye it did not look well proportioned. The shaker looked too short (front to rear) and square, where a Shelby or '69 Mach I scoop is longer and rectangular which seems better proportioned to the car. All in all, its a matter of taste, do what pleases you.

I've only seen one, and it looked ok. I don't think it's worth the price. I like the looks of the boss 429 scoop on the 65-66,as well as many other scoops. The cowl scoops and the areo scoops look real good too. I'm not crazy about the Mach1 scoop on 65-66 cars. The thing about adding any scoop besides the Shelby scoop. Is the rest of the car needs to work with it too. You can't in my opinion go and add a Boss 429 scoop to all stock looking 65-66 car. But instead keep all the mods working together. I'm big on the free power of cold air. That makes more power at low speeds then ram air does.

Hell I'd put one onto my 68 if I had the money and a new hood to ruin =)

IMHO the reason that looks bad is because it sticks out like a sore thumb. If the hood had a black stripe or black hood it would stick out alot less and look more at home like the car in which it was originaly intended.

Anyone wanna try a photoshop on that car to see?
