I am going to paint a new edelbrock performer RPM in the morning and I need to know if it requires aluminum primer first or if I can just use the duplicolor #1613 high heat paint without primer. The intake manifold is still in the box and is as clean as it is going to get. Is there anything I should be doing to it before painting? Thanks in advance for all of your input

Get it really clean using lacquer thinner, dust it with a light coat of the paint you are using, then give it several light coats.

Never assume a new part in a box is clean, they never are.
