Someone please refresh my memory in what the difference was between the 2 model years. I thought one had an extra bolt hole, but the one I just pulled from a 66' model looks identical to an old rusty one I had already from a 65' model. So, either I am thinking of the wrong thing, or one was switched during it's lifetime by P.O.

Here's another rusty memory to add to yours. Didn't some of the early '65s (64.5 and all that) have different hood latches, and then they changed mid-year?
Someone else will know for sure.

Well, I found another top plate out in the garage and it is different than the other 2. It appears that the hood latch release is held on by 3 bolts with one plate, and 2 bolts with the other. And, the outer tabs are shorter on the top plate with 2 bolt holes. So, wonder which is correct for which year?
