I think this is my first technical question asking here, my old mans oughta town so my free tech support is gone. But I figured you guys would be the next best thing. I went outside to crank the '65 and nothing happened. My starter has a tendency of getting hung so I rolled it down the hill a bit to see if that was it, I hit it again, nothing happened, not even a click. So then I thought maybe it was my battery so I put a jumper box on it and nothing happened again, so then I just jumped the solenoid to see if that'd do anything, and what do you know, it cranked and ran fine. So for some reason, my cars not wanting to crank from inside of the car, they key works everything fine when turned to accessory and when turned to on, but as soon as I try to turn it over, nothing happens. Is there a fuse I need to be checking, or is it something else?
Thanks for the help!

Auto trans, I assume? Sounds like the neutral safety switch, mounted on the side of the trans at the linkage. The wiring leads are red and black IIRC. To test, disconnect the leads at the connector (under the dash) and jump the live lead to the dead one, and see if it'll crank. If so, it's either in the wiring between the connector and the switch, the switch itself (most likely), or in the wiring between the NSS and the ignition switch on the dash

Will it crank with the trans in neutral? That's a quick and easy experiment.
You can also just try jiggling the shifter; if it'll let you crank it then, it's the NSS for sure

If it'll bump over at the solenoid, it's gotta be before that. Check for 12v. to the key ignition switch, and then check for 12v. out of the switch; both in the 'ING' and 'START' positions. That should narrow things down

'Preciate it, problems fixed now. And didn't even have to ask the old man, won't they be proud.
Thanks!
