If you've tried to buy an NOS 71-73 pitman arm recently for a power steering car, you'll have found prices in the region of $250! You may also have found that the replacement Moog part is a little longer. Now one well known supplier asked for the original as part of the charge so they could restore it. So I figured, if they can do it, maybe I can too. So I cut off the backing plate, and all that's inside is a rubber bushing in plastic casing, that would cost $1 if it was available repro. That's $249 cheaper than buying a replacement pitman arm! Anyone have any idea how to find a replacement? If so, I'm going into the restored pitman arm business! Thanks, Simon

Well, I see they're available for early Corvairs, and they cost $7.70! http://www.larryscorvair.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LCP&Product_Code=LCFS-002&Category_Code=LCFS

Contact Mustangs Unlimited. I bought one from them about 6 months ago for $30. They had 15 in stock. I probably should have bought all 15. Fit my 73 vert with power steering. Was a duplicate of the original in terms of length. Good luck getting the original one off!
