A fellow member of our local mustang club is looking for a pressure valve or a metering valve or what ever it is for his 1968 california special. He said it is a small valve that sits next to his proportioning valve and it plumbs into it, it is leaking and he is getting brake fluid all over. I do not know anything about this and obviously can not help him, but he is looking for an original one for his car, if anybody can help me help him I would appreciate it. I told him that maybe somebody here could find one.JOHN ------------------ 65 2+2 FASTBACK 87 TAURUS WAGON 98 F150 XLT TRITON V8 4.6, 4 WHEEL DRIVE Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 MyPhotoPage MY TRUCK

A friend who has a California Special told me he is describing THE proportioning valve and that he had the exact same problem with his. Ford makes a part to replace it with, but it does not look like the original. He said it is around $120.------------------ Scott '69 Coupe Grande 351W in progress

It is not the proportioning valve that is gone, but the unit ( not sure what it is called )that sits next to it and plumbs into it. Well, part number C7OZ-2B091-B is the proportioning valve. That's what I'd have said it was too, John, if you weren't so sure it's not. There's one for sale, with a pic, at ... http://www.fordmustangparts.com/parts2.htm Is that not what you're after?

Thats what I have leaking on my fastback. My coupe looks like it has a Ford replacement part on it. C7OZ-2B091-B is the cylinder shaped proportioning valve for the disc brakes and not the distribution block that all cars have. The distribution block is different between the disc and drub brake cars but all cars have them and disc brake cars only will have the proportioning valve. I have also seen this style proportioning valve on 69 Mustang and Cougars.------------------ Ed S. 68 S-code FB GT 4spd(now C6)/3.25 PS PDB 68 J-code(now 289) Cp Sprint"B" C4/3L00-9" PDB PS AC 99 F150 XLT Ext/cab, 4X4, 5.4L, 3L55 03 Winstar Limited with the works! Hi John,Has our friend had any luck with that proportioning valve? I just order two kits for myself to rebuild the ones I have. Cobra Automotive has them for under $30 and the kit consist of two seals and a spring. I figured that the $30 kit is cheaper than $200 for a NOS one. http://www.cobraautomotive.com
