Should I use my early 3spd bellhousing or find a 84-93 T5 bellhousing? Is one way better than the other, easier than the other, cheaper than the other? I dont suppose a C4 is even close? ------------------ Jeremy '68 Coupe M&M Member #685 MCA Member #49134 Help make the world a better place, drive a Ford and race a slot car!

The C-4 is not the same monster. You already have your 3-speed bell, you only need the spacer plate between the tranny and bell. The T-5 bell will give you the option of using a cable clutch linkage or the mechanical z-bar. To use the z-bar you will have to put a spacer under the pivot block. Each has its own benefits, I still prefer the stock 289 Bell and spacer. Less hassle. Mike

See, I knew there was a reason for using my existing bell. I forgot about all the linkage changes.

The cable is smoother, can be adjusted easily, and provides more header clearance. Also saves weight. [This message has been edited by 68DARKHORSE (edited 09-18-2003).]

My main needs are cheap and easy. NO, not like I like my women! My budget for this project is already gone with the new clutch, shifter, etc. If I could find a T5 bell cheap it would help. I have a friend who is helping me make the crossmember.

You should be able to find a bell for $50. Mine was free, but my tranny was $900($50 core + Z spec rebuild).
