ok, I adjusted the contacts on my regulator according to the manual, and she's charging between 14.5 and 15 volts, cool! my question is, the voltage limiter side kicks in and out on a 15 to 20 second cycle, is this normal? I know it's just a "cheap" part to buy, but I don't want to go buy a new regulator and find out that something else is going kill it.

Is your car a "correct" restoration? If not, I'd recommend a good-quality electronic regulator. Plug 'n play!------------------ '68 289 coupe -- currently in the process of re$toration

No, it's had a 289 dropped in it. it originally had a 6. bought the car this way 6 months ago. I don't mind buying a good regulator, but if the 15-20 second cycle is a sign of something else, i'd like to find out first. quote: Originally posted by page62: Is your car a "correct" restoration?
