Found a pair of the Sun-X tinted 70 Fastback bolt-in door glass with the normal hairline scratches from the worn fuzzies.
Guy priced them to me for $375, they don't have the chrome end pieces, but neither does my glue in 69 glass.
Is this the going price for the 70's bolt in door glasses????

Okay, that seems a bit high to me. Is that for both, or just per side? The '69 glass will work, but you have to have them glued up by a good shop that uses quality products. The SportsRoof glass is usually harder to find, but I didn't think it could get that high. I had a topic here just a couple of days ago regarding '70 coupe glass, tinted...most people here told me about $50 is good for a coupe window. Fastbacks are worth more...but I'm not that much more.

That's for both sides. Sounded high to me but this is really the first glass that I have really found. Supply and demand pricing maybe?
Father-in-law owns a body shop so glueing the old is not a big deal, just thought if it was more desireable to have the '70 bolt-in I might upgrade.

It is more desirable since the '70 glass is bolted in, rather than glued in. But I've heard that if the glass is glued in correctly it should last. Supply and demand is a big part of it. The fastback body style was the performance body (mach I, Boss, etc) so more of those get restored, which means there are less parts cars out there for the parts.

Personally, that sounds too high for the "real" market, including ebay. If no scratches or knicks, that is a good price if that someone is found - and willing to pay it. If this glass also had the correct brackets and all necessary hardware to bolt them in (69' hardware will not work with 70' glass and vice versa), then $250.00 is about the top price. Just FB glass, with scratches - $150.00 for the set is a good range. And yes, supply and demand do contribute, but glass is out there, you just have to search for it - and it is pretty common still, if you're searching seriously.

I know that Eastwood sells a kit to polish windshields, but I believe it says not for use on anything but windshields. But you might want to double check, I could be wrong. www.eastwoodco.com Sorry, I don't know of any '70 SportsRoof glass available right now.

I have a set is with the brackets and all attaching hardware. Paid $150 locally about 6 years ago for them (that was expensive - as there was no ebay then). I am just sitting on them in case I ever decide to go that route. Concerning my side glass: I did re-use the original 1969 windows and brackets. I completely cleaned all the old glue out of them, compressed them very slightly in a vice to make them a little more snug, used some 3M type of adhesive and re-installed everything as original. 7 + years and counting with no problems. If they ever come back out of the door, from sliding or if one gets cracked, etc. - the 70' style is going in. As far as buffing out the scratches, never tried it personally, but heard it does not work.

Thanks to both of you for getting back with me. The glass that came with the car don't match. One is the Sun-X and the other is clear, guess I will try and find one of the mates to either glass and go from there. Plan on tinting the glass so the mis match may not be a big deal.
Got any ideas on finding the trim pieces that go on the rear edge of the glass? Hope its not a neddle in a haystack thing to find, so far no luck around here local.

Needle in a hay stack? Now you have the right idea. They are getting hard to find. A few years ago, say 5, most places till had them in stock, ran about $100-120 per side. But since then they have gone obsolete, most places don't have them listed anymore. You can still find some on eBay, or maybe Perogies still has 'em. But if you go to Perogies, prepare to spend lot's of $$. On eBay they go for anything from $50 to $100 for used. Maybe soon they'll look into making repros (hint hint to the Mustang parts places on here ) Good luck in your search.

Try searching for terms like "1969 Mustang" "69 Mustang" or replace mustang with other words such as "mach 1" "mach I" "gt" "fastback" "sportsroof" those terms should get you close. Just to let you know, you'll need to sign up w/ ebay before you can bid on any items, but to search there is no need to sign up. Sign up is free, if you find something you want.
