I'm looking to put a Midland booster in my 68, which was originally non-power brakes. Can I use the brake pedal from my friend's original power brake 67?
Also, my friend has a Bendix. Will he be OK using my original non-power brake pedal?
And should we also swap pedal supports?
And last but not least, is a 67 pedal "correct" in a 68? I noticed in my NPD catalogue that they sell 68/9 power brake pedals for auto and manual. Should I be looking for one from a 68 or 69?
Thanks!
Simon

The 67 and the 68-69 power brake pedals are the same except that the 67 pad from left to right is a little shorter or maybe narrower is the word. The 67 is about shorter. If your friend is swapping to manual brakes you should swap with him. The pedal supports are the same except that the power brake support has open holes at the firewall so the studs on the booster can go through it. The manual support has threaded inserts that are welded to it to accept the bolts that hold the master cylinder on the car.

Then again you can also just bust the inserts out.

Dont forget to get the spacer for the push rod! If I remember correctly it goes between the master and the booster.

Ooo, a lot of issues here Lemme take this one first ...
No, my buddy is not switching to manual. He's staying with power, but putting in a new Bendix lookalike. The reason I came up with the idea of a swap was that I thought I'd heard someplace that the manual brake pedals will work with the later Bendix but not with the deeper Midland booster.
I'm sure about the last part, but I guess the big question is, can my buddy use his Bendix booster with a manual brake pedal?
