My car has no kickdown rod!!! Didn't mind down-shifting manually at first, but now I'd like it to truly be "automatic." Just wondering if the rod is car specific or if I can get the rod from any 302/C-4 combo car.

I think your car uses a kickdown cable that's attached to the throttle linkage at the firewall.

Does the accelerator pedal rod have a piece of metal about 8? long pointing downward in your engine compartment?
