Was this emblem originally installed on any cars from FoMoCo? I've seen them around, but don't know if they are repros of Ford emblem. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/mustangweekly/351higem.html------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

No, that emblem was never factory-applied to any Ford product.

Damn, I was hoping maybe I had found a neat replacement for my factory 351 emblems on my '70. ------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

Just because they didn't come on your car from the factory doesn't mean you can't apply them in such a way as to LOOK like the factory did it. The trick to adding engine size designations and such is to remember that there should only be ONE designation visible at one time from any side of the vehicle. For instance, if you have that '351 High Performance' badge attached to the front of the fender near the parking light, then you should NOT have a hood-scoop badge that says '351' or 'High Performance' or any combination of the two. That would just be visual redundancy. Or, if you have a 'Cobra-Jet' emblem on the sides of the scoop, you shouldn't have a '428 Cobra-Jet' badge within view anywhere on the car at the same time. That is why on all the 70 Mach's with the 428, there was only a 'CJ' badge on the scoop since the '428' was a big decal on the hood. Or, all 71-73 Mustangs with ram-air came with a decal on the hood that said '351 RAM AIR' or '429 RAM AIR'. That was the only place that the engine size was displayed on the outside of the vehicle. The one notable exception to that rule is for BOSS 351's: Thier hoods had decals that said only 'RAM AIR', even though they are technically 351's with ram-air. Why did Ford do it that way? Simple- the car already said 'BOSS 351' in big letters on the fender, so there was no need in repeating the engine size on the hood decals, which could be seen at the same time as the fender decals. Another thing that a lot of people do that seems to get 'under my skin' is to give thier car a real 'schizophrenic' appearance. What I mean by that is that someone will put GT hubcaps on a 302 powered Mach 1, and then put some 'BOSS 302' decals on the outside of the car, or even on the valve covers. What is it? A GT? A Mach 1? A Boss 302? It can't be all of them. right? I guess it doesn't rally matter, each can do whatever they want with thier own cars....------------------ 1971 'J' code 429 Mach 1 1976 'Starsky & Hutch' Torino (460) 1973 Grande 1973 Mach 1973 Convertible

They would be replacments for my '70's original '351' emblem, which are very tough to find new since Ford discontinued them a few years ago, and no repros are being made that I have seen. I'm not emblem crazy, I have a Mach I hoodscoop on my car, but it's the 70 style w/o emblems. The embelms would go where the original 351 ones were, right under the Mustang script on the fender.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic
