Spent all last evening polishing up the engine compartment, routing my new plug wires and tying up all the hoses, covered the wires up with some blue plastic covering. When I was done I still wasn't really happy with the engine compartment so I decided to just leave the hood shut at our Mustang clubs annual car show.Well I guess everyone likes the stripe and scoop as much as I do because I won first place and got me a real nice 2 1/2 foot tall trophy. I know they're just dust collectors but it felt really nice to finally win a something for a change.------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html [This message has been edited by mustangboy (edited 06-08-2003).] [This message has been edited by mustangboy (edited 06-08-2003).]

Willie, Congrat's. I looked at the pics of your car on the M&M site and I thought the engine compartment looked pretty darn good. The rest of the car looked great also. It looks like a pretty nice ride overall, A trophy well deserved. Willie, Thumbs Up on the trophy and SUPER THUMBS UP on your car. Great pics. In the first pic of the rear of the car, there are no cutouts for the exhaust and on the second rear pic there are. Was the cutout valance standard on the Sprint or was it just something "I Gotta Have"? I like the tips. I think they look better than the original style dual tips. Good luck on the '66 project. Looks like you've got a good start. Gene------------------ '68 coupe 289/3speed(soon to be 5.0/5speed) '85 F150 Beater 300/Overdrive Stick Pre-dented&scratched '02 Ranger 4x4 Edge '02 Miata

Thanks for the kind words guys.I've been waiting a long time for this.Horseballz the GT rear valence was not part of the sprint package thats why it doesn't have it in that one picture(it was still completely original at that point).I was adding dual exhaust so when I had the car painted I thought I would add the GT valence. The V-8 sprint package is as follows < pop open gas cap < GT style rims but without GT emblems on caps < C-stripe on side < fog lights in the grill This was an early summer appearance package to help sales. It basically made the car look like a GT but without the extra expense of the 4-V engine and dual exhaust and heavier suspension.Fortunately for me my car came with the 4-V J-code 302 so it really is very close to being a GT without the emblems.------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html [This message has been edited by mustangboy (edited 06-09-2003).]
