I purchased a new LeCarre woodgrain steering wheel that says "Motolita" on it at the recent Carlisle Ford Nationals. Installed fine on my 68 FB except the horn button shorts out every time I honk it. I have reviewed earlier posts about this problem, but have not been able to get an answer on a fix. Can someone tell me what to do to get the horn operational?

You have a short somewhere. Check out the contact rings on the hub adapter for starters. Make sure they correspond to the contacts in the column.

Part of the problem was that the old Grant wheel was held on with three bolts and it was difficult to unscrew the one large nut without turning the whole thing once the wheel was off. It ended up causing the wires on the old adapter to pull out.

It came with a install kit and instructions that are very simplistic and incomplete. It appears to have a simple ring with the contacts. I have to replace the fuse and try to check the contacts next. I am somewhat frustrated by the seller not being knowledgeable about installation. Especially since they apparently sell quite a few of these!
