Ok guys, I found a Holley carb this weekend and I need to figure out the CFM and what engine it came off of. It is a Holley made for MotorCraft. The blue tag says: E4TE ARA A 4C29Thanks. ------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger

it is from an 84 ford truck, probably 302 or 351. I'g guess around 500-600 cfm. Possibly an emmissions carb. Does it have a holley # on the air horn? I can probably look that up and give you the cfm and more info.

E4T does specify a '84 truck, and only the 351W HO truck engine got the Holley 4 barrel.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com [This message has been edited by SteveLaRiviere (edited 05-27-2003).]

It`s most likely a 4180 series Holley, similar to the 83-85 5.0HO Mustang carbs. I have recently been playing around with one of these 4180`s on my 85 Mustang 5.0 race car, & they have several noticable differances from the normal 4150-4160 Holleys. Among the most obvious is that there are no idle mixture screws on either side of the primary metering block. Rather, these carbs have a 4 corner idle curcuit in the base plate, however the idle mixture screws are sealed, & need to have the plugs removed for access, which is via a small Allen wrench. There will also be a large curved tube coming from each float bowl, for hooking up to the evaperative canister. There seems to be very little info about these carbs available, however, they also tend to be cheap to buy, due to their oddball "smogger" nature. I have 5 of the 84-85 Mustang carbs, I bet I paid less than $100.00 for the bunch of them. The last 1 was $10.00 at a swap meet.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@130mph 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA Stocker 302 5speed. soon to be under the index! 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd
