I'm almost ready to strip and blast my entire shell. I'm going to put a good coat of DP-40 (An epoxy prime) on the whole thing. What I need to know is do I put the seam sealer on before or after I prime it. Personally, I think that after would be better. I found a lot of rust UNDER much of the factory seam sealer. Another question is what kind of sealer to use. Some seems to be like a tar and others are like caulk. I want to be able to paint it though.

Definately apply the seam sealer after priming. Like you said, some rust can develop if not primed and then sealed properly. As for brand, 3M makes some great stuff that is easy to apply right from the tube and is paintable. It is available from almost any decent auto parts store.
