rockafellz Gearhead Posts: 1329 From: San Lorenzo, CA, USA Registered: Aug 2001	posted 04-21-2003 07:18 PM I believe the modulator has nothing to do with downshifting. The modulator only controls the upshift. I believe it's all in the kickdown lever located on the shifter shaft. It's pulled by either a cable or a kickdown rod (depending on year) when the accelerator pedal is floored. Even at 20mph, i'm not sure if the kickdown lever would drop the trans into 1st.
