During the course of my restoration, I've tried some strange things, all of which I'm happy with, although others have said "Naaah!" But here's one I'm really proud of. It's a winner!
PROBLEM: Sagging "eyebrows" in 67/8 dashpad.
SOLUTION: With a sharp knife, cut the insides of the eyebrows further in towards the leading edge. Don't go too far to the sides, or towards the leading edge. Then take some spring steel wire (I used stuff out of an old bed frame), and bend them as in the pic and weld to the dash steel. The distance between the leading edge of the steel and the wire is two inches.
I won't bother showing you the dash pad now it's installed. Look at a photo of a new dash pad in your catalogues. That's what mine looks like now

Very good idea, lets you keep your original equipment.

Just make sure your belted in good.67s don't have the shoulder harness and I think it was optional in 68.That little extra support might be hard on the face in a head on collision.

I think the only way you could whack your head on this baby would be if you were in the passenger seat and if you WERE wearing a shoulder harness. But it is spring steel. Before I put the pad back, you could make it go "boing" and it just bounces back into shape.
Actually, the whole of the top of the dash is spring steel. I wonder if Ford made it like that for safety reasons.
