Well, after 3 weeks I finally got my car back on the road. For you that don`t know I put a Monte carlo bar and front set of Granada disc brakes on my 66 stang.Everything works fine and I have plenty of pedal but it is kinda spongy. Gotta push a little harder than I think I should. The car is a lot stiffer now with the bar on. Tomorrow I `m getting it aligned and then I `LL be ready for some cruising. Thanks, Tony

Make sure the lines are bleed really well. Any air in the system with be noticed.

The best way I have found is the tried and true push-open-close-release. I have used the vacum pumps but did not have very good luck.

Tony, did you swap the master cylinder? A MC from a '74 Maverick with manual front discs should be the master cylinder you should be using. It has a smaller bore and won't take as much pedal pressure to stop the car. It will also firm up the pedal. Make sure you use the original '66 PUSHROD!!

Also make sure you bench bleed the MC. It took me 25+ pumps to fully eliminate the bubbles.

Yes I did use the 74 Maverick M C and I thought that I got all the air out.I did use the 74 pushrod, since it was only 1/4 inch longer.I also benched bleed the M C

You need to bleed some more. Spongy brakes come from you compressing the air bubbles, fluid doesn't compress so a well bled system feels like stepping on iron.
