I dont, but I do have power steering on my 68 and it works flawlessly. I can take pictures and help you if there is anything specific you need to ask about. I also have the shop manual for the 68.------------------ '68 coupe 289 C code 66 heads, edel 600cfm carb, performer intake, dual exhaust

I thought I would see how complicated it was to do. I have the complete setup but I imagine the ram, pump, etc. needs to be rebuilt. That unfortunately looks like it may cost several dollars. I would like to put it on, but I don't need a leak to keep up with. Fortunately, I have no puddles on my garage floor from the Pony. I have heard that this will more than likely cause a few puddles.

They can be a pain in the you know what. They have a lot of components, and those parts can be pricey, such as the ram. I have always heard that they tend to leak, mine always did, even with all new hoses and such. It's because of the system Ford used, too many hoses and components. This is one place where I prefer GM's over the Fords. They have a better PS system. But it can add value to your car if you plan to sell.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

GM used that system too, on some of their older cars, like '63-'67 Vettes. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com [This message has been edited by SteveLaRiviere (edited 04-15-2003).]

What have you done as far as rebuilding/replacing parts to make sure they work properly and don't leak?

True True. The GM systems I meant were the the A-bodies and such, where all you have is a pump, steering box and 2 hoses. You caught me on that one, Steve. ------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

The '71-'73 up have a Saganaw intergral system, which is a great system. The '65-'70 are the cursed ones. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

I might as well When I bought my car, the PS leaked badly. I replaced the ram and the hoses, and now it leaks badly. I've resigned myself to it.

like this? ^##&*#%*))^@$!&^$@* Mine is a 'sometimes I'll work, this time I ain't gonna work.' type of deal. I can't stand putting money into that control valve. I'd go manual but MrsMule has something to say about that. ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 351C 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 5.4 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.' I bought my car last year, it worked when I got it so i have left it alone. The hoses have a heat sheild on them and I dont use tubular headers (im still using cast iron stock manifolds).Im thinking of switching to headers and removing the P/S system (I was also told its not really needed). But its very easy to park (one finger steering with the car standing still). I dont know what else I can tell you, because I havent had it apart. But id be happy to take installation pictures (probably not much help)

If you don't mind and have some time to take a few photos and email them to me that would be great. I have decided that I have the parts so why not put it on. If I'm not happy with it, then I'll take it off and sell to someone who really needs it!
