Hey All,Thanks to everyone that helped with the instructions with removing the 3 speed manual. The swap went very good and the C4 is purrin' My uncle was very happy with the job. We took her around the block and it's smooth but doesn't shift till really late since the vacuum modulator isn't connected. One thing I noticed was when we put it into PARK, it makes a weird quiet hissing sounds for about 4-5 seconds and then dissappears. Anyone know what that would be? The converter was properly meshed and mated very good with the flywheel. The fluid level is perfect. Since the vacuum modulator isn't connected, we weren't able to shift it into 3rd gear. Just a short 25 mph trip around the block. And the shifter has 2 wires coming from it, the trans also has 2-two pronged wires coming from it. Where do those connect to? What size rubber hose do we need for the vacuum modulator? Thanks in advance. a. The switch on the shift control shaft is the Neutral Safety Switch/Reverse lights.b. 3/16" IIRC. There is actually a metal tube for the modulator that runs down the transmission side, with only about 3-4" of rubber hose at each end. It attaches to a metal clip at one of the bellhousing-engine block bolts at one end, and a clip attached to one of tailhousing bolts at the other end, I believe. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

a. Ok, so the 2 pairs (4 wires total) coming from the neutral safety switch are the reverse lights and neutral safety lights? How about the 2 wires coming from the console shifter? I assume those 2 wires connect to one of the pairs coming from the transmission. b. Yup, I knew about the steel tubing but I'm not sure the parts stores sell those, so I was just going to use a rubber hose all the way through. Thanks for the speedy response SteveL!! a. The pair on the shifter is for the little light on the PRND21 dial.b. You can easily bend brake line to do the job. Steel line is less prone to being sucked close, and isn't as floppy and prone to damage. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

Go with as much metal line as you can. When a vacuum modulator goes bad and tranny fluid gets on the hose, it eats it up and the hoes gets nasty and loose.EDIT: the board wont let me change "hoes" to "hose". ------------------ Dustin C "The Mopar Guy!" 56 F-100 Mech. for wifes 69 Mustang coupe 65 Plymouth Barracuda 70 Dodge Swinger

The two prongs on the tranny are a switch that is activated when the tranny is in reverse. Those will hook up to a connector on the car to turn the rear lights on when it's in reverse. The other two wires, I believe, should be jumpered together. There is a pigtail that makes the connection on both sides easier. Junk yard?
