How much does a rust free, complete rolling shell, all glass and interior intact, but no motor or trans go for? The car is a '68 J-Code fastback, all complete, but not motor or trans, and will need paint, but has no rust. I'm just asking because a shop here in Phoenix has one for $8000. ------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

I think that is to high, the most I would pay is around $4,000.00 to $4800.00 JOHN ------------------ 65 2+2 FASTBACK 87 TAURUS WAGON 98 F150 XLT TRITON V8 4.6, 4 WHEEL DRIVE Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 MyPhotoPage MY TRUCK

If it's really rust-free and complete, I'd say that's an excellent price. The engine and tranny are the most easily replaced items when it comes to a restoration, IMHO.

They have about 3 pix of it on their webpage. It did look to be in fact really rust free...a typical AZ native car.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

If the car is totally rust free that is a good price, and I know someone that will pay it. There are several body parts on 67/68 fastbacks that are not reproduced and hard to find, rear quarters being the hardest. About eleven years ago I found a pair of NOS rear quarters for $800 each, should have picked those up but didn't------------------ Jay Kilroy 68' Fastback GT 390 "No such thing as a cam thats too big"

Is that car a GT? Is it assembled? A shell implies no doors, hood, trunk, or interior. $8000 for a car with no drivetrain should at least have nice paint. ------------------ 68 GT FASTBACK www.imboc.com/phpBB/Uploads/1020432917.jpg 01 GT BULLITT www.imboc.com/phpBB/Uploads/1020440453.jpg 96 OJ BRONCO

It doesn't appear to be a GT, just a standard '68 J-code. The car has just about the entire body intact, just missing a front valance and maybe hood. It is assembled still, mostly. The interior looks like a AZ native car...i.e. toasted. Here is the link to their siite that has some pix of the car. http://arizonamustangmart.com/shell_fastback.html ------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

After seeing the pictures on the link you provided, I have to change my mind and say that I would pay no more than $2500.00 to $3000.00 for that car, it seems like it needs alot of work. Just my opinion and I could be way off base on this one, but it will be interesting to see what the other people have top say about it. JOHN

I'd give $1500-$2000 for that. To say there is no rust is a huge understatement!! I'd pay $8000 for the gray fastback above, MAYBE, but $8000 for a roller? Screw that!! Some people dream too much they drag it into reality. Put some realistic prices up there and maybe you'll get some tire kickers to say the least. Right now you're not even convincing the tire kickers to put on the kicking shoes!! I'm confused: they aren't 'after' and 'before' pictures? $8000 for the painted one is very iffy, but if they mean $8000 for the bottom one, I'd say they are $4000-5000 high. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

Well, I have seen a lot of older cars that are AZ natives be very rust free, maybe just some surface rust. Saw a '45 pickup, all original, no rust, but some surface. I don't think it's before and after, but 2 different cars. It's a short trip down the freeway, maybe I should see if the Mustang shop has it visible from the street.------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

Yup, after seeing the pics, my $8,000 is going back in my pocket. It's not rust-free (just look at the hood hinges), and even if the box hides loads of goodies, there's surely no hood in there. Maybe ask him why it has a 67 steering wheel too.

Looks like its getting a little rusty around the shock tower and frame rail area.Must have been sitting for a long time with no hood.It doesn't have the cutout in the rear valence for the dual exhaust so it doesn't appear to be a GT.I would say its way overpriced------------------ 1968 mustang j-code sprint.13.69@101 306cu.in, stock ported heads, weiand exellerator,650 holley DP,hedman hedders, comp 292 Magnum cam,4-speed,8 inch 4.11 detroit locker http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html
