How difficult is it to install a toploader in a 1970 stang? The trans that is currently in my car is from a truck or god knows were. HH ------------------ _ _____________________ _ Harley D. Huggins II Laguna Niguel, CA 1970 Mach I 1998 GT Convertible www.geocities.com/hh_machi/

If you are replacing a FoMoCo 3 speed stick it's a piece of cake. If you have a shifter for the top loader it's a bolt in.------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Yep, if you had a 3-speed stick it is a simple bolt in, just did it in my 70 coupe last week, took me maybe 5 hours to do, and I swapped in a lakewood bellhousing while I was at it, the driveshaft is the same length and everything, now if you car was originally an auto well then it could be more of a challenge.------------------ 1970 coupe restored with the help of my dad. 302 with 600 holley, aluminum intake, headers, pertonix ignitor 2 with matched coil, 4-speed toploader, and 2.79 open 8" rear. Soon to be 9" 3.25 trac-lok 1986 f-150, 5.0, factory towing package with original c-6 trans

Nope, I'd be replacing a four-speed trans that came from a truck or somewhere else. I haven't ID'd it yet, but it definately isn't a toploader. ------------------ _ _____________________ _ Harley D. Huggins II Laguna Niguel, CA 1970 Mach I 1998 GT Convertible www.geocities.com/hh_machi/

There you guys go again....bringing tears to my eyes once again!!! I lived one block from there for 8 years, and then after I move up here to Oregon (15 years this month) the cruise becomes one of the must do's in SoCal!! Maybe one of these years on a trip back I will get the chance to swing by the old stomping grounds. ------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730

Hey V8,I haven't been there for about six months, but I need to go soon. Those guys are some early birds. If you don't get there early enough you can miss out on most of the cars.
