Of the million things I'm working on, I'm building up an engine and looking for a good Carb. I have a 347 stroker with Edelbrock performer RPM heads and manifold...and am looking for a 650-750cfm carb (probably 650 as this car will be my daily driver for a little while). I've heard a lot of bad things about the Edelbrock carbs...and was thinking Holley or Demon might be a better route. Any suggestions?

I running the Road Demon carburetor, 625 cfm, Ford kickdown linkage, vacuum secondaries, electric choke, Road Demon series, carburetor.

I can't say enough good things about this Carb! I have had the others mentioned, but after I bit the bullit and paid the cash for the Demon, I wondered why I waited so long!

I like the E-brocks. I have been hearing good things about the new Thunder line.

I have to say 625 Road Demon (since I have one) but Holley is not bad either. I would not go bigger than the 625 in a Demon they flow higher than the spec.

What kind of bad this about Edelbrocks??? I have one on my 66 and think it's a fantastic carb! Runs very smooth, good power, what's not to like? I also had a 750 Edelbrock on my '87 F250 with a 460 and it ran killer!

I'm not telling you to run an Edelbrock but it just bugs me when people trash them just because the name doesn't start with an "H"!

I've heard Hollies are junk too, but I've had them and they've run well too.

You just have to wade through all the B.S. and keep an open mind and run what you feel comfortable with.

I understand that Edelbrocks may be a little more troublesome to tune with a big cam. I've also heard great things about Demons too. With your 347, the Demon may be a good choice...then again.

Keep an open mind!

Thanks for the suggestions. As far as the Edelbrocks...I have a few friends with muscle cars that have had them "crap out" (their words, not mine) after only a few years. I know a lot of BS exists out their on even my favorite manufacturers...
As far as the Demons, I had a friend install one on his '66 a few months ago and he has nothing but praise (although he's hardly broken the thing in!).
