It's very important to wear eye protection when installing anything that can be sprung. My dad and I put 2 wires into the spring and compressed the spring with a vice. We then tied the wires tight on both sides of the spring. We slowly released the vice and installed it into the door hinge. The 2 wires have to be thin but cannot break. After we had the spring installed we just cut the wires with some wire cutters. The wire idea is a great one. I had installed my spring with both sides of the hinge off the door, so mine installed easier.Daniel

It also helped to have the fender off. The access is easier... Daniel

both my fenders are off, and hood, and everything in the front, and the trunk lid, and no carpet, no passanger seat, no rear seats, no door panels, no rear window cover panel, no under carpet sound dampener layers, no heater, no door windows, no emblems, no tail lights, no bumpers, no reverse lights(like they ever worked anyways .) no ... you get the point. so installing mine, was just as easy ------------------ Alan 1966 Tahoe Turquoise A-Code Coupe 650cfm Holley 4bbl / petronix ignition / missing valance / sanded to bare metal [This message has been edited by dubstar (edited 03-27-2003).] [This message has been edited by dubstar (edited 03-27-2003).]
