Will the 20 gallon tank from a 69 or 70 fit into the stock opening in a 67 or 68??Cousins fastback needs a new tank and the Power Tour is coming up, he figures about 10mpg with the 428, he'll be stopping for gas a bunch, 4 extra gallons would help. ------------------ Stuart MCA #48902 M&M #1091 67 stang 5 speed, 351W, Edelbrock Performer RPM package my photo page

I'm pretty sure this is a common upgrade. Can anyone confirm this? ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

I just put a 70 (they are 22 gal) into my 65 FB. Very easy swap. Stan

It fits fine! You will lose a little trunk space, as the part of the tank that is larger is the part inside the trunk. I have one out of a 69 Cougar in my 68 FB. You will just have to trim the filler neck.[This message has been edited by 68 S-code GT (edited 03-24-2003).]
