I bought the Front Disc Brake setup from Stainless Steel Brakes which included the dual master cylinder and a proportioning valve with pressure gauge. My question is where does the gauge go.
1. Master Cylinder --- Gauge --- Proportioning valve ---- rear discs OR
2. Master Cylinder --- Proportioning Valve ----- Gauge --- rear discs.
I called Stainless Tech and some woman told me it didn't matter?????

And then a guy at the parts store said I might need some kind of pressure tank in the rear line in order to get the rear discs to work?? They are Lincoln Versaille rear discs.

Ernie,
How many ports are on your proportioning valve? If it has three mount it on the prop valve, or after the valve. What you will be measuring is the amount of change when you turn the knob in or out. You will have to set it after you drive it and try a panic stop.

The gage is only for testing purposes as far as I know. It doesn't do you any good unless you have one on the front for comparison.
Put the gage after the proportioning valve is you feel you need the gage.
I assume you have a 4 wheel drum car....keep the factory distribution block. Install the proportioning valve in the steel line to the rear brakes.
The real problem with my setup was finding the correct master cylinder.
I finally bought a booster and master from Master Power brakes after using a Wilwood manual for a year. MUCH better now.
MP sells a MK VII/Versailles master (SVO mustang is same with aluminum body) with a 1 1/8" bore and pressure outlet on the passenger side. I used trick banjo fittings to allow valvecover removal on my 351C
