Has anyone here had any experience with these? Are they stronger than the best T5 and if so, what are the "ins and outs" , so to speak, of their use and installation compared to a T5 swap? Can the shifter use the same location, crossmember issues, lengths, bellhousing details, etc.? What's the poop?
Thank you all,

The 5 speed is supposed to be a swap for a top loader.
I have heard several times over the years that the Doug Nash/Richmond gear 5 speed has an input shaft that is 3/16" too long. This will put your pilot bearing and crank thrust bearing in a bind. People have used various methods to shorten the input shaft....from a cutoff wheel to a machine shop.
Otherwise it is a strong tranny, but more expensive than a tremec....

You will have better gear spacing with a Tremec.
Richmonds like stock ratio rear gears, which could save some trouble if you haven't already switched them out.
But even if you bought a Tremec and gears you would still save money over a Richmond.
