I am trying to remove the lock on the door. I know that the clip behind the cylinder has to be removed, but the problem is with the small ferrule on the rod that comes down from the interior button lock. It does not appear to be a nut. How do you remove it? Thank you.

On my 68 they are clips that snap open.like a little lever, then the rod pulls out.
